Booking a Trip to Maui and First Day Edits

Almost every day, I get an email or two from Scott's Cheap Flights with fare deals departing from DFW. Confined by the academic calendar and a precious bucket of PTO, we don't often book trips on a whim. However, when a Dallas to Maui deal popped up in our inboxes, we simply couldn't pass up the deal. The flight was $258 per person. Round trip. Non-stop. On American Airlines. I know! Shocking.

More about Scott's Cheap Flights here; we opted for the premium subscription, and it is well worth the $49/year. A few quick notes, too:

  • Most flight deals are international, except for Hawaii

  • You have to move quickly when booking! We usually have a date range in mind for our vacation, and wait for an email to come through with a deal.

  • Scott's Cheap Flights isn't a booking engine, they just alert you on deals and provide the airline and date constrictions

  • Most flight deals range between $250-$600/per-person/round-trip

I'm working on designing our photo book, and couldn't help but include a screenshot of the email that prompted our trip! If this isn't reason enough to sign up for Scott's Cheap Flights, if only the free version, I don't know what is? :)

The remaining photos from the first few photo book pages were from our travel day. We mostly checked into the hotel, found pizza, coffee, drinks, and ice cream. Vacation, am I right? Slide for the before and afters!
